10/09: Intro to Unit 4: The Age of Revolutions
1. I will pass out the unit overview notes as well as the essential standards and objectives to the students at the beginning of the class.
2. Students will begin to work on a vocabulary worksheet that will provide them with the terms that they need to know for our new unit.

10/10: What is a Revolution?
1. Students will complete a reading comprehension sheet as a warm-up. This introduces the idea of independence to students prior to the start of the Revolutionary War. After completing this, I will go over the sheet and students will discuss the correct answers with me.
2. After this, students will work on a cause and effect worksheet pertaining to a reading about the war.
3. Any vocabulary sheets that are not complete, need to be completed and turned in to the red tray by the end of class.

2. Read the American Revolution Reading and highlight or underline as you read the text. Complete the questions that follow.

10/12: Loyalists and Patriots
P3 SS:
1. Students and I will recap and discuss the causes of the Revolutionary War and write them on the board.
2. Then, students will read a passage about loyalists and patriots and complete the questions that follow.
3. Students will work on a matching worksheet and a "Join or Die" worksheet at the end of class. This will set us up for our gallery walk tomorrow.
P8 SS:

1. Students will participate in a gallery walk and complete the gallery walk sheet that goes with the 12 quotes provided in the walk.
2. We will go over the correct answers in class.
3. Students who finish early will analyze three quotes on their table that also deal with the Revolutionary War. We will also discuss these quotes as a class.
P8 SS:
1. Students will work on a matching sheet that we will discuss as a class after students have had class time to complete it.
2. The "Join or Die" worksheet will be their HW.

3. Students will individually, (or in pairs), watch the Tennis Court Oath video linked on their Google Classroom page and then answer the questions that follow.

10/17: Analyzing the Declaration of Independence
P3 SS:
1. Students will watch a BrainPop video about the Declaration of Independence as a class.
2. On the board we will discuss the 3 parts of the declaration.
3. Then, students will work in table groups to analyze chosen sections of the document and write summaries. They will be provided with a vocabulary sheet to assist them in better understanding the wording of the Declaration.
P8 SS:
1. Students will analyze the Declaration of Independence by using a provided scaffold-ed worksheet with word banks. This is due by the end of class or is HW.
P3 SS:
1. Students will watch a BrainPop video about the Declaration of Independence as a class.
2. On the board we will discuss the 3 parts of the declaration.
3. Then, students will work in table groups to analyze chosen sections of the document and write summaries. They will be provided with a vocabulary sheet to assist them in better understanding the wording of the Declaration.

Students in P3 SS will read about the French Revolution and Napoleon from a selected chapter. They will then complete the questions that follow on a provided worksheet on Google Classroom.
P8 SS:
Students in P8 SS will read a passage about the French Revolution. Then, they will compare the French Revolution and the American Revolution by using a linked Prezi on Google Classroom.
** Students in both classes will be handed a notes sheet for the American Revolution today titled, "Why do We Celebrate the 4th of July?"
P3 SS:
Students in P3 SS will read about the French Revolution and Napoleon from a selected chapter. They will then complete the questions that follow on a provided worksheet on Google Classroom.
P8 SS:

1. Students will be given their study guide today as well as an outline to assist them in remembering the key points of our unit. They will begin working on their study guide in class today and will also work on it tomorrow. Students should also work on this guide at home as well as study it.
